Chapter 4 - Time Stopped

The team quickly took up their positions and waited.
The forest suddenly came alive.
The barrage of the machine guns lighted up the dark silent forest. It seems like the forest came alive with the sudden flashes.

Zaph's team surrounded and taking heavy fire.
"Fucking hell!!" cursed DOM cowering as close to ground as possible.
"Does this always happen!?!" Shouted J.
"Oh yes. This is just appetizers so hold on tight." Grinned Snake.
And as quickly the barrage flared. The forest was silent again.
"What the hell?" J raised his head to peep. Boom!! As his head exploded by a sniper shot.
"SHIT!!" As DOM screamed as he helplessly looked at his downed comrade.

Zaph didn't waste time as his adrenaline kicked in. After asking Clara to stay hidden, he disappeared into the shadows.

BOR didn't waste anytime as she stick her gun hand out and sprayed the undergrowth.
Clicked as her gun went dry.
"I hope I managed to get some motherfuckers." As Bor changed the magazine.
"I hope you did too" said Cat as she took her turn to fire at the undergrowth.
"I hope Zaph is alright..." As she glazed at the spot where Zaph and Clara walked into.
"He will be fine, better we worry about ourselves first." As Bor took her turn.

Zaph stride silently and quickly as he scanned the surroundings warily.
This is definitely not the first time for him but also won't be last.
Zaph stopped and saw a sniper crouched aiming at his camp direction. Slowly and silently he creep up the sniper. As quickly as it happen, Zaph sinked his knife into the sniper throat while grabbing the mouth.
"One down."
Taking position as he put on the enemy's headset and picked up the sniper rifler and peeked into the night scope.
"Let's see how many you got." Thought Zaph.
He surveyed his camp through his scope and saw his team hiding in the undergrowth. He saw the body of J. "Dammit"
Quickly he adjusted the rifle to opposite of him.
"This way they won't know" rationalized Zaph.
Slowly yet surely, He sniped the soldiers one by one.
"We are taking fire!! Snipers quickly take out their snipers dammit!!" screamed the person in the headset.
"That makes 12." Zaph counted.
"How many more of this motherfuckers are there?" When suddenly a bullet whizzed passed his head.
"Shit. A sniper." As Zaph rolled farther into the undergrowth.

The stranger looked up into the 2 soldiers pointing at him.
"Who are you and where are you from?" asked one of the soldiers.
"I am an explorer looking for rare plants, animals and insects. Did you guys stumbled into any? smirked the stranger.
The 2 soldiers stared fiercely into the strangers and readied to fire.
Before they pulled the trigger, 2 blades whizzed through the air into their throats.
The bodies stumbled on the ground. The stranger with 2 hands up.
"This could only mean Zaph's Team is in trouble." The stranger rushed towards the campsite.

Cat and BOR is now under heavy fire again. Trying hard to avoid the barrage as the 2 lied flat on the ground.
"This is going to hurt." As Bor tossed a grenade into the undergrowth.
'Boom!!!!!!' As the forest caught fire.
Cat followed suit and threw at another direction.
'Boom Boom Boom!!!'
As the rest of the teams threw theirs too.
Trees creaked and fell as their trunks blown off by the explosions.
Screams were heard and there was silence again as the fire burnt brightly.
Drops of rain fell.
The team waited. trying hard to anticipate the enemies' next move.
At this moment, time seems to have stopped.
